Terms of Service

Welcome to Storywish. These Terms govern your use of the Storywish website and service (the "Service"), operated by Meli Solutions Ltd., 2040 Budaörs, 40 Törökugrató str, Hungary ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use Storywish

The Service is intended for use by adults (18+), specifically parents and carers, to create stories for children.
You must be at least 18 to create an account or make a payment.
Children should only use the Service under the supervision of a parent or carer.

2. What the Service does

Storywish generates short children's stories using artificial intelligence based on the words and themes you provide. Stories are created automatically; while we apply safety measures, AI-generated content can occasionally be unexpected. You are responsible for reviewing any story before sharing it with a child.

3. Free trial and subscription

We offer a 7-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription is £3.99 per month unless cancelled before the trial ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via the "Manage subscription" button in the app, which opens the Stripe customer portal.
The plan includes up to 40 stories per month. Unused stories do not roll over. Limits may change with notice.
PDF book exports are available for a one-time fee of £5.50 per book.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
Refund policy: All payments are non-refundable once the free trial has ended. If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexual, violent, or that attempts to identify or endanger a child. We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the Service.

5. Your content and ownership

The stories you generate are for your personal, non-commercial family use. You may print, save, and share them privately with family members. We do not claim ownership of the stories you create.

6. PDF book exports

PDF book exports are generated digitally. After successful payment, the PDF is made available for immediate download. As this is a digital product, it is not subject to a right of withdrawal once the download has commenced.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under Hungarian and EU consumer law.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the Service or these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Hungarian courts. Your consumer protection rights under EU law apply regardless of where you are located within the EU.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as implemented in Hungary.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Meli Solutions Ltd., 2040 Budaörs, 40 Törökugrató str, Hungary. Contact: info@melisolutions.com.

2. What we collect

Account data: the parent/carer's email address and login credentials.
Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe; we receive only billing confirmation, not full card numbers.
Story data: the keywords, moods, age range, and generated stories you create and save.
Technical data: basic usage and log data to operate and secure the Service.

We deliberately avoid collecting information about children. We do not ask for a child's name, birth date, photograph, or any identifying detail — only a broad age range to set the story's reading level.

3. Why we use it (legal bases)

To provide the Service and your saved stories (performance of contract — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To process payments and prevent abuse (legitimate interests / contract — Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
To comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
With your consent, where required (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for example optional marketing communications.

4. AI processing

To create a story, the keywords and themes you enter are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (USA), to generate text. Please do not enter personal information about your child or others into the story fields.

5. Data storage

Your account and story data are stored securely by our infrastructure provider, Supabase. Data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your personal data will be removed from our systems. Supabase's data retention and security practices are described at supabase.com/privacy.

6. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate Storywish: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Anthropic (AI story generation). All providers are required to protect your data. We do not sell personal data.

7. International transfers

Some providers (Anthropic, Stripe, Supabase) may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure an adequate level of protection.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any right or to request account deletion, contact us at info@melisolutions.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH — naih.hu).

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit and restricted access to credentials. No system is perfectly secure; if you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately.

Children's Privacy

Storywish is a tool for parents and carers, not a service directed at children to use independently. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The Service has been designed to avoid collecting any data that could identify a child, in line with the EU GDPR and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at info@melisolutions.com and we will delete it promptly.
